Home / LEAK DETECTION
You may have a leak.
Common swimming pool leaks can arise from various sources, including expansion/construction joints, inlets/filtered water returns, and penetrations like ladders and lane rope anchors.
Expansion joints, while essential for accommodating structural movement, can deteriorate over time, allowing water to seep through and exit the structure.
Inlets, which facilitate water circulation, may develop leaks due to loose fittings or worn-out gaskets.
Similarly, penetrations like ladders and lane rope anchors can be vulnerable points for leaks if their anchor points degrade or become damaged.
This can be seen in the image below where a redundant anchor/penetration in the pool shell is found to be drawing large volumes of water with our specialized fluorescent tracer dye.
Detecting and repairing these leaks promptly is crucial to prevent water loss, potential structural damage, and to maintain a safe, uninterrupted and enjoyable swimming experience for pool users.
Regular maintenance and inspections can help identify and address these issues early, ensuring the pool remains watertight and in optimal condition.
Our team at Cheviot Underwater Solutions are experts in tracking down structural leaks and rectifying them before the problem gets out of hand.
